Open CSV in Taxon

1 · Install + Open with (Chrome / Edge)

  1. Open Taxon over https (or localhost).
  2. Install as an app (browser install / “Add to dock”).
  3. In Finder / Explorer, right-click a .csv → Open with → Taxon.

Uses the PWA file_handlers entry for text/csv. Taxon never posts the file.

2 · Drag onto Taxon

Drop a CSV onto the load zone in the app — or onto this page (jumps into Taxon with the file).

3 · Bookmarklet

Drag this to your bookmarks bar. Click it on any page to jump to Taxon’s load zone (then drop or browse a CSV).

Bookmarklets cannot attach a local file for security reasons — they only deep-link into the app.

4 · Optional web+taxon: (not taxon:)

Custom taxon: needs a store-listed extension. Taxon instead may register the allowed web+taxon: handler in a secure context — deep-link only, still local-first.

Example: web+taxon:clean → opens Taxon. No file payload crosses the network.
